Family reunion time!!! Actually, it’s more than that…it’s ITALIAN family reunion time! Italian family reunions are really quite similar to many family reunions…plus animated hand gestures in every conversation and a ton of extra emotions! 😉 We try to all get together every other year to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa and have some fun with each other. The family is very spread out, so it has been a lot of fun to still know my cousins despite how far apart we are during most of the year. In honor of this week, I decided to post a few of my favorite Italian dishes throughout the week. Today we have an appetizer, or antipasto in Italian, but later this week I’ll post Italian White Bean Pasta and Lemon Biscotti (with lemon icing!) For now, you can munch on these amazing crostini and dream of the delicious and healthy Italian recipes coming your way shortly!
This recipe is super easy! It takes about half an hour to make because the baguette slices need to bake in the oven until they are golden-brown and have a deliciously crisp texture. If you have a cutting board, a cookie sheet, and a knife…you can make this recipe – no other tools are needed! Whether you’re just starting out in the kitchen or have been cooking for year, this is a great recipe to make to take to a party because it is simple, quick, beautiful, and extremely tasty. I love to use a mix of different heirloom cherry tomatoes in this recipe so I get a variety of tomato flavors – from sweet to tangy – all mixed together! (Plus, having all the different colors is so fun!) No matter the occasion for this antipasto, it’s always a cause for celebration!
