Last night, I had the unadulterated pleasure of eating at Regina’s Pizza in the North End. Apparently, I’ve been there before, but since I only remember the aquarium and Grandpa’s childhood house from my previous trip to Boston (I might have been 10 at the time), I had the unique experience of eating the best, most unforgettable pizza I’ve ever had in my life for the second time…you know, cuz I forgot the first time! It was my loving and dear father who not-so-subtly insisted (since when has he done anything subtly?) that John and I go eat there, and I am so glad he did! So, cheers, Dad and a Happy Father’s Week to you (I get away with not saying anything about it on the blog until now since I was with you on the actual day! 😉Continue Reading

Since John and I started dating in college, every December, I try to make the Christmas season even more magical than the last. A couple years ago, I bought a wooden advent calendar in the form of a penguin – we named him Albert. That Christmas, I hid a piece of paper with a hint on it behind each advent door and John got to retrieve this hint and a special little Christmas treat (once he figured out the clue) each day. I know he enjoyed it, but for me, that is the best Christmas we have had in quite some time. It was so much fun to do for someone else and I loved to watch him try to figure out my clues and then enjoy his treat. Some treats were little presents hidden around the house, others came in the form of food, but he loved them all.Continue Reading
Pumpkin Pie is definitely one of my all-time favorite desserts. It is also not the most difficult or time-consuming recipe, which just makes me love it more. I am completely willing to eat pumpkin pie any time of year – my mother-in-law (Hi Patty!) has even made it for my birthday, which is in August, in the past!Continue Reading
