Today’s high is in the twenties. I’d say that’s definitely soup weather. We had one good week where the highs were all in the upper fifties, but now the cold has really set in. I’m hoping warmer weather is on its way, but until then, I’m going to eat soup and try to stay warm!Continue Reading
I love sweet potatoes. They’re great in all kinds of dishes and at all sorts of meals. I’ve even eaten them at breakfast (in South Korea) and they were great! One of my friends used to tease me all the time about my “obsession” with sweet potatoes – she’d seen me eat them in sushi, chili, soup, Mexican, and so many other dishes.Continue Reading
I don’t know about where you are, but it is HOT outside today here and it’s only going to be hotter tomorrow and Friday! These are my first 100ºF days of the summer. Comically, I’m amazed that I made it all the way to the second half of August to feel 100ºF heat – thanks, Boston! You really did me a solid there! I have to say, I’ve been really enjoying my cooler summer, but I’m prepared for these hot days. I often meal plan monthly because I can save money buying in bulk (and I love saving money!), but recently we have been in such a transitional life phase that I have reverted to planning meals weekly. Not only does planning your meals out in advance save you time, it can also save you calories and money (even if you’re not buying in bulk!). If you’re new to meal planning, I recommend starting weekly. Try asking yourself these 7 questions to help you get started:Continue Reading
Boston, Boston, what to say about Boston?! I’ve only been here for a few days now, but I’m already very pleased with the food! There is so much variety, though I do miss all of the readily-available Mexican food of the the south! One thing I don’t miss, though, is Italian food. Why??? Because there is just so much of it here!!! I know you all know of my Italian heritage, so you can understand why I am delighted by the plethora of Italian restaurants I have found in Boston.
