Today’s high is in the twenties. I’d say that’s definitely soup weather. We had one good week where the highs were all in the upper fifties, but now the cold has really set in. I’m hoping warmer weather is on its way, but until then, I’m going to eat soup and try to stay warm!Continue Reading
I love sweet potatoes. They’re great in all kinds of dishes and at all sorts of meals. I’ve even eaten them at breakfast (in South Korea) and they were great! One of my friends used to tease me all the time about my “obsession” with sweet potatoes – she’d seen me eat them in sushi, chili, soup, Mexican, and so many other dishes.Continue Reading
Every year since I was a little girl, my mom has made us cheese strata for Christmas morning. She loves it because she can do all of the prep work the day before, then pop it in the oven on Christmas before we sit down to open presents and it will be ready by the time we’re done. We like it because it’s super tasty and we are ready to eat as soon as presents are unwrapped!Continue Reading
I don’t know about where you are, but it is HOT outside today here and it’s only going to be hotter tomorrow and Friday! These are my first 100ºF days of the summer. I have to say, I’ve been really enjoying my cooler summer, but I’m prepared for these hot days. I’ve got my Caribbean Popsicles in the freezer and I have everything I need for whipping up this cold tomato soup, aka my Skinny Salmorejo, for lunch!Continue Reading
The Fourth of July is practically a week away – WHAT?! Crazy – this summer is just flying by! Where did June go, right?
I don’t know about you, but my favorite thing to do for the 4th is to visit with family and friends – eating good food and having fun! Since I grew up in Atlanta, I also prefer to start the day of with a 10K (Peachtree Road Race, anyone?), but that might just be me! 😉 That’s my tradition and I love it! …and I don’t have to be in Atlanta to follow it. I’ll run my 10K wherever I am – I mean, how else will I be hungry enough to eat some of everything at our afternoon/evening get-together?! There is logic to my tactic…plus, I really like to run!Continue Reading
