Today’s high is in the twenties. I’d say that’s definitely soup weather. We had one good week where the highs were all in the upper fifties, but now the cold has really set in. I’m hoping warmer weather is on its way, but until then, I’m going to eat soup and try to stay warm!Continue Reading
Recently, John and I were reflecting on our first cooking experiences. It’s amazing how difficult it can all seem when you’re first getting started. There are also plenty of moments when you feel you have it all under control, but then you make one bone-headed mistake and your dish turns to bleh…or in my case, dough. Happy new year! I know I am a little late to the new year party, but after a much needed holiday break celebrating with tons of friends and family, I’m back! You missed me, right? (Maybe it’s because I refused to eat any meat other than chicken for the first eight or nine years of my life…) I never really knew that I was missing anything until John took me to his parents’ house for his birthday meal the first year we were dating. Ever since John was little, his birthday dinner request was always the same: spaghetti with meat sauce. After eating that meal one time with his family, I understood why he loved it so much!
